We all know the general recommendation that we need to drink roughly 8 glasses of water per day. However, not all of us remember to do it. We’ve written up some tips to keep you hydrated and to help you beat the heat this summer.
Make your reusable bottles your summer must-have
There will never be a better time than now to invest in a reusable water bottle. The best thing about it is that you’re able to carry purified water on the go, wherever you are. A reusable water bottle will help you track and increase your water intake. Last, but not least, you will reduce your plastic water bottle usage, which would have otherwise ended up in landfill. You’re not only doing something good for the environment, but you’ll definitely stay more hydrated during the warm summer months.
Flavour your purified water
We all get bored with water eventually, so why not mix things up and add some fresh fruit to your water? Another alternative is to add some SweetLeaf® Water Drops to your purified to make it even more refreshing. This will enhance your drinking ensuring you stay hydrated and healthy this summer.
Hydrate before eating
Many of us are often still hungry after we’ve had a meal. This could be a sign that your body is depleted of water. So drink before you eat. This way you’ll increase your water intake and you’ll reduce the risk of overeating.
Don’t cheat on purified water this summer
Beat the heat this summer by hydrating with genuine purified water only. Sugary soft drinks might feel refreshing at first, but your body is made of water and it needs water to replenish lost water. So instead of reaching for a fruit juice, coffee or soda, stick with genuine purified water. It’s healthier and way more hydrating.
Track your hydration to stay healthy
This might seem silly, but tracking your water consumption is a great reality check. Simply make a water schedule and set your goals. If you know you have 3 glasses of purified water to drink in the morning, it seems less daunting than 8 glasses of water for the day. 1 glass when you wake up. 1 glass after breakfast and 1 glass as you arrive at work, etc.
Hydrate by eating
If drinking water is not your favourite thing to do, perhaps eating water rich fruit and veggies is your answer. 20-30% of your water intake comes from fruit and veggies anyway. See a water rich fruit and veggie list below:
