Beat summer’s heat with these purified water recipes

Summer is the time to be outside and absorb some sunshine, but what we often forget is how dehydrating the intense heat can be. We’ve made it easy for you to stay hydrated and beat summer’s heat with these delicious purified water recipes.

 

 

 

Berry and mint popsicles

Berries are known for being filled to the brim with antioxidants. Mint leaves are rich in nutrients and have countless other benefits. Why not consume these ingredients with the best purified water as a refreshing drink to stay hydrated this summer?

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups fresh berries
  • 2 tbsp, plus 1 1/2 tsp agave nectar
  • Juice from half lemon
  • Handful mint leaves
  • Purified water

 

Preheat the oven to 180ºC and place your fresh berries on a baking pan covered with a non-stick baking sheet. Drizzle it with the agave nectar and lemon juice, toss gently and bake for ±25 minutes. In the meantime, chop mint leaves and pour ± ¼ cup of purified water into the popsicles.

When done, collect all the berries and strain them through a fine mesh strainer to catch most of the seeds. Collect all the juices and divide it between the popsicles. Add some fresh, whole berries and mint to each and top off with more delicious purified water. Stir and freeze for ±6 hours. Serve on a hot sunny day!

Papaya and strawberry pick-me-up

Papaya is rich is fibre, Vitamin C and antioxidants which help to lower cholesterol. Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamins C and K and contain potassium, manganese and folic acid. This delicious combo will help you fight off colds and keep you hydrated for the remainder of summer.

Ingredients:

  • Papaya
  • Strawberries
  • Purified water
  • Purified ice blocks

 

Slice fresh papaya and strawberries into small pieces, place in a big jug. Fill it up with great-tasting purified water. The longer you let it rest, the fruitier the purified water will taste. Enjoy in the heat of the day!

Grapefruit go-to

Grapefruit is known to be low in calories, it strengthens the immune system, it helps control your appetite and it is high in powerful antioxidants. So why not put it in your purified water and reap these benefits with every sip?

Ingredients:

  • Grapefruit
  • Rosemary
  • Sparkling purified water
  • Purified ice blocks
