DWS/ Eco-Schools receives the Water Conservation Award from H₂O International SA at the Eco-Logic Awards 2015/16

H₂O International SA proudly presented DWS/ Eco-Schools with the gold Water Conservation Award at the Eco-Logic Awards 2015, held at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town on the 21^st of April 2016.

The prestigious award ceremony, initiated by Enviropaedia and judged by a panel of highly respected, environmentally aware individuals, celebrated a range of organisations, products and services which had been produced with the most care and the least damage to the Earth and its eco-systems.

H₂O International SA is South Africa’s no.1 water purification company and was the proud sponsor of the Water Conservation Award. “We were delighted to sponsor the Water Conservation Award at the Eco-Logic Awards 2015/16,” said Tony Marchesini MD and Franchisor of H₂O International SA. “H₂O passionately supports the right of all South Africans to have access to clean, pure water and we think DWS/ Eco-Schools is a very deserving winner”, he added.

DWS/ Eco-Schools is a government and civil society partnership assisting more than 50 South African schools to manage their water resources sustainably. During 2014, 332 100 litres of water were saved due to changed practices.

Marchesini went on to congratulate the other runners up – Woolworths Water Stewardship Initiative who received the bronze Water Conservation Award and the WWF-Mondi Wetlands Programme who received the silver award for their initiatives to restore wetland ecosystem health for the public common good.

“It’s wonderful to see how these organisations are actively working to preserve water and improve its quality for the good of both the people and the environment” said Marchesini.
