We are delighted to announce the opening of the new Maputo store in Mozambique run by Kobus Niehaus, our new H2O franchisee.
Meet Kobus
Kobus is a construction professional holding a BSc. (Building & Quantity Surveying) from the University of Cape Town, an MSc. (Construction Law & Dispute Resolution) from the National University of Singapore & Kings College London and is a Chartered Construction Manager & Builder with the Chartered Institute of Building.
He has 27 years of combined Professional Quantity Surveying and Construction Commercial Management experience and lived and worked in multi-cultural environments in a variety of markets ranging from Cape Town to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan and Mozambique.
Whilst from a corporate background, he believes his experience gained with the successful commercial management of various multi million USD projects and establishing new businesses in a number of foreign markets provided him with the drive, determination and necessary skill set to leave the corporate world and enter into a retail venture and establish a business in Mozambique.
Kobus has considered various business ventures and a number of franchising options. Once he met with Tony and Ken face-to-face it was quite clear which way to go as he could immediately relate to the people, the products & services offered and H2O’s values and business ethics.
He is passionate about renewables, clean water, professionalism, customer satisfaction, service delivery, maintaining high standards and unquestionable integrity in all matters at all times.
Kobus has been living in Maputo for the past 18 months with his wife Young and their two dogs.
He enjoys the outdoors, travelling, reading, music, movies and holds a private pilots licence. Apart from flying he also enjoys cycling, swimming, hiking, scuba diving, motorcycling, Formula 1 and of course rugby.
